Sam is a member of the Theatre Arts Adjunct Faculty at Marymount Manhattan College where he co-teaches a course on creating source based and documentary theater

Sam was a member of the adjunct faculty and artist in residence at CUNY Queens College in the Department of Drama, Theater, and Dance. He co-taught a class on documentary theater and created a piece called TRACES with the students that premiered as a mainstage production.

For three years Sam has been a member of the Outbound Fundraising team where he speaks to subscribers, patrons, and new audience members to deepen their philanthropic engagement with the theater.

Sam is a permanent consultant at Chickenshed NYC, an all-inclusive youth theater company. He works closely with the managing director to secure funds from national, state, and local agencies as well as foundations and individual donors.

Sam works as a mentor and playwright for Barrington Stage Company's Playwright Mentoring Project where young artists gather together throughout to create a new piece of theater tackling topics that are meaningful to them. 

Sam spoke on a panel at the NYU Production Lab about starting a theater company, producing in NYC, and what it takes to be an artist who wears many hats.

Sam co-taught a master class about source based theater making at the annual conference of the National Alliance of Acting Teachers to a cohort of teachers from prestigious universities and colleges around the country.

Sam co-curated and facilitated the 2022 Applied Theatre Convergency entitled "A New Intimacy" where professionals and students gathered together for a three-day conference on intimacy in the arts and arts training.

Sam taught 60 students virtually a three-week master course on physically based acting, embodied voice, and devising methods.
