Independent Producing Credits, Awards, and Highlights

Sam is the newest addition to the team at the Vineyard Arts Project, an incubator for the creation of new work in dance & theatre. An artist residency located on the beautiful island of Martha’s Vineyard, Vineyard Arts Project provides visiting artists with the necessary time & rehearsal space, allowing them to focus solely on the development of their new work. 

Sam was the winner of the 2021 BroadwayWorld Regional Award for Long Island for his direction of The 39 Steps at Strongbox Theater.

Sam produced Jews, God, and History at the Flea Theater in June of 2022. This piece, created and performed by Michael Takiff, played fora three week run in the Siggy Theater.

Sam produced Craig Harwood's The 2,521st Man as a workshop in the fall of 2022 at A.R.T./New York Studios.

Sam produced Katherine Guanche's Hex in the City which ran at Theater Row on 42nd street in October of 2021.

Sam was on the selection panel for the 2024 Brooklyn Arts Council grants Local Arts Support and Brooklyn Arts Fund.

Sam was on the selection panel for the 2024 New York State Council on the Arts Grants for Organizations award.

As a member of SAG/AFTRA Sam was honored to have served on the nominating committee for the 2024 SAG awards.  

Sam was on the selection committee for the 2023/24 BRIClab Performing Arts Residency at BRIC Arts and Media in Brooklyn.

Sam served as a selection panelist for the 2022/23 Small Theatres Fund at A.R.T./New York which is a regranting program funded by the Howard Gilman Foundation.

Sam is an original committee member on the Artist Committee at IndieSpace. Originally formed at the Merger Committee for the Indie Theatre Fund and LIT this new committee of artists meet quarterly to discuss the needs of the indie theatre community and how IndieSpace can best meet those needs.

Sam is one of the newest Board Members for the Alliance of Resident Theaters / New York. In this capacity he represents the indie New York theater community and works to build awareness for the organization and its members.
